Dr. Fowler began his formal education at California State University, Los Angeles where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He then attended Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico where he received his Medical Doctorate. Dr. Fowler completed a general medicine internship at the Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, California and an internal medicine residency at Stony Brook University on Long Island in New York. He then completed his training with a dermatology residency at the Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California.
After completion of his training Dr. Fowler became Chief of Medicine and Dermatology at the Reynolds Army Community Hospital at Fort Sill, in Oklahoma. A few years later he accepted a position with West Los Angeles Kaiser Permanente as Chief of Dermatology for over 20 years.
As a dermatology professor at West Los Angeles Veterans Medical Center and UCLA, Dr. Fowler stays current with the latest trends in Dermatology through medical journals, conferences, and interaction with peers and patients. By teaching clinical dermatology and surgical techniques Dr. Fowler remains up-to-date with the most progressive treatments.
Treating patients and helping them control or clear their skin conditions brings Dr. Fowler ultimate fulfillment. “There is nothing as satisfying as helping people live happy and healthy with damage and disease free skin. Dr. Fowler also enjoys performing Hair Transplants, Face Lifts, and many other aesthetic/cosmetic procedures.
In his spare time, Dr. Fowler enjoys golf, bowling, cooking and walking. He was also an avid surfer.
